Coorg Mist Coffee
80:20 coffee and chicory · South Indian kaapi
The heritage kaapi line combines 80% estate coffee with 20% roasted chicory for aromatic, full-bodied decoction.
Prepared in small batches under the Coorg Mist heritage filter programme in Madikeri, Kodagu.
Coorg Mist Coffee Co is created and powered by Hyperbridge; Aakhil Appaiah leads local sourcing, roasting, and fulfilment operations.
Chicory root, roasted and ground alongside coffee, contributes inulin and caramelised sugars that thicken mouthfeel and round out bitterness without adding caffeine. At 80:20, coffee’s own oils and acids still lead, with chicory a body-building minority partner in the decoction.
This is the ratio a Kodagu filter household would recognise without asking — strong enough to wake the house, familiar enough to pour without thinking twice.
