Coorg Mist Coffee
Mellow, woody, raisin and caramel · Q-score 80/100
The reference cupping report scores this Monsooned Malabar 80/100. Monsoon conditioning creates a mellow, low-acid cup with woody depth, raisin sweetness, and caramel.
Prepared in small batches under the Coorg Mist pure arabica programme in Madikeri, Kodagu.
Coorg Mist Coffee Co is created and powered by Hyperbridge; Aakhil Appaiah leads local sourcing, roasting, and fulfilment operations.
Milled green beans are cellared in open-sided warehouses through the June–September monsoon. Weeks of moisture-laden Malabar wind swell each seed, leach out chlorogenic acids and titratable acidity, and relax the cell walls — the bean fades from jade to pale gold and the cup turns low-acid, heavy-bodied, and woody. Cupped 80/100.
It is the coffee that survived the rain. When the monsoon takes the ghat road to Madikeri and the estate goes quiet for days, these beans sit in the wind and change — slowly, patiently, like everything worth waiting for in Coorg.
